Costs

When your pet gets sick- can you afford it?

In recent years, we've been able to bring down the cost of routine health care for your pet, such as flea and heartworm preventatives, vaccines and routine tests. What hasn't gone down however is the cost of advanced medical care. While we are able to do everything from chemotherapy to hip replacements for your pet, the costs of advanced care can add up. Even seemingly simple skin and ear problems, very common in Florida, can add up to hundreds of dollars.

That's why we strongly recommended that you consider health insurance for your pet. For a very reasonable cost, you can ensure that you will always be able to afford whatever care your pet needs. In addition, many plans pay for much of your pet's routine care, from vaccines to flea pills, making it even more affordable.

At AMC we recommend VPI, the original health insurance for pets. Here's their website, www.petinsurance.com where you can look at their policies. If you have any questions please call them. The folks at VPI are always knowledgeable pleasant and helpful. Other companies we recommend are ASPCA Pet Health Insurance www.aspcapethealthinsurance.com, and Petplan, www.gopetplan.com.

Care Credit

An additional way to help pay for those unexpected illnesses is Care Credit. This is like having a credit card for your pet. You can apply on line at www.carecredit.com. Once you are approved you'll be able to cover unexpected medical problems with your Care Credit account, and pay it off over time like a regular credit card.

The old fashioned way

Of course, we take checks and cash, and accept all the major credit cards, (VISA, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover).

With credit cards, health insurance and Care Credit, it's easier than ever to manage your pet's medical expenses, so you'll be able to keep them healthy, happy, and a part of your family for many years to come.
